About the journal.

Built & Explained is a journal of my own ideas taking shape, through projects I’ve designed, built, tested and kept improving.

I started this journal in 2026, writing up earlier projects retrospectively from the photographs, designs and test records I kept. Each case study follows the decisions, experiments and practical lessons behind a project. The dates shown in the articles refer to the original builds and their later development.

Some projector test recordings include third-party demonstration footage. They show the projector in operation; the underlying films and images belong to their respective creators.
